This is a nice quality large antique Manipuri singing bowl with thick walls and interesting decorative features including a circle of sun motifs (dot within a circle) at its centre and around the lip, and a band of ritual gashes or cuts forming a band below the outer rim.

The struck note is an excellent third octave D. The rim note is the same D3 if played with a suede ringer, but it changes to a fifth octave G if a wooden one is used.

A Tibetan silk brocade bowl cushion, a small padded striker, and a double-ended teak and suede ringer are all included in the price.

A very nice Manipuri singing bowl in a good state of preservation.
