This large antique Thadobati Singing Bowl has a good third octave G# fundamental when struck or played around the rim.  It has a huge sustain, and is also capable of making excellent splashy fountains when played with a little water inside.

The 19th century foundry that forged this bowl clearly struggled to make its walls regular and smooth, as even today, after years of washing and cleaning, its surfaces are a still a little lumpy.  Decorative features are limited to 2 rows of tiny cuts encircling the outer rim, and circles at its centre. 

This is a characterful old bowl that has been well used but is otherwise clean and structurally sound.  It has an attractive shiny, bright, and golden bronze colour.

A Tibetan silk brocade bowl cushion and a ringer are included in the price.
