This is a large 19^th century Thadobati singing bowl with a fabulous voice – a low third octave G with a frequency of 193Hz.   The struck note is particularly beautiful and has a long pulsating sustain.  The rim note is the same G3 and nice and easy to play.  A ringer is included in the price.

With a diameter of 8 ½ inches this is a large bowl for a Thadobati.  It’s an attractive bowl, clean, strong and structurally sound, although most of its decorative features have been worn away with use over the years.  However, it retains a decorative band of punched dots encircling the outer rim, and there are faint circles at its centre.  It has a very nice antique bronze colour and the look and feel of great age.
