Antique Jambati Singing Bowl. Notes: C3 & F#4 (Root & Heart Chakras)
Weight 5 lb 7 ½ oz. (2.49 kilos). Size 30 x 12.5 cm (11 ¾ x 4 ¾ inches)
This is a heavy thick-walled antique Jambati Singing Bowl with a powerful pulsating third octave C fundamental (128Hz) when struck with a padded mallet or played with a suede ringer. The rim note changes to a middle F# (379Hz) with a wooden ringer.
Its flat-bottomed low profile and sloping wall make the generous 11 ¾ -inch diameter appear even greater than it is. It has a thick grooved lip, circles at its centre, and decorative incised bands encircling the outer rim.
This antique bowl is in excellent structural condition, clean and stain-free, with attractive hammer marks and a matt bronze colour.
A Tibetan silk brocade cushion, a padded striker and a double-ended teak and suede ringer are all included in the price.
