This large antique Naga Singing and Healing Bowl has an absolutely wonderful voice…one of the very best we have heard from this rare type of bowl!  It is extremely responsive and eager to sing whether it is struck with a padded mallet or played around the rim with a suede ringer.  The note is a superb mid octave D with a long sustain.

The best ‘struck’ note is achieved by striking this bowl in an upward direction just below the widest part of its belly.  Multiple strikes increase the power and volume.  The rim note is quite close to concert pitch.

This handsome old bowl is very shapely, clean, and in excellent structural condition.  It is solidly constructed, and has classic Naga proportions and typical decorative banding below the outer rim.  It also benefits from a nice dot-punched inscription.
