This is a large medium-weight antique Jambati singing bowl with exceptional fountain abilities. However, it is really distinguished by having two fabulous and low 2nd Octave notes…an E fundamental (struck note), and an F rim note (played).
This is a very pretty bowl with a lovely golden colour inside and out, and virtually free of blemishes. Its finely forged walls make it fairly light for its size and therefore comfortable to hold and play for an extended period. It’s an older bowl that has seen a lot of use over the years as the concentric circles that once decorated the inside floor are now barely visible, but the general condition is very good indeed.
A lovely bowl with a superb sound…and perfect for demonstrating vibrant and splashy fountains! It also benefits from a carved inscription high up on the outer wall (see photo).
