It’s hard to fault this huge and wonderful antique Jambati bowl with its stunning good looks and glorious singing voice.  Its sheer size, weight, and full-bodied form lend it a rare gravitas and a commanding presence that cannot be ignored.  The fundamental note is a fabulous third octave C# (136Hz) with a long pulsating sustain.  The struck and rim note are the same glorious C#3.  This beautifully forged antique bowl has been extremely well cared for during its lifetime and is in excellent condition inside and out.  Everything about this bowl is special, and I would not be in the least surprised if it had served some sacred ceremonial purpose within its original Himalayan community.  It’s certainly one of the best Jambati bowls I have encountered in 30 years of collecting.
