This massive antique singing bowl has a diameter of 14 ¼ inches, weighs 4.58 kilos, and is one of the largest in my collection.  Jambati bowls approaching anything like this size are extremely rare and sought after for their beautiful and incredibly low, pulsating and loud voices

This wonderful bowl has a fabulous, powerful, low perfect pitch G2 fundamental (98Hz) when struck with a padded mallet.  The rim note when played with a suede or wood ringer quickly evolves into a beautiful middle D4 (291Hz) harmonic with the hum of the G2 beneath it. It has a long sustain, and its vibrant energy is such that it will readily produce a low OM with a heavy suede ringer.  Too heavy to hold, it should be placed on a cushion for playing and will be supplied with a fabulous large Tibetan silk brocade bowl cushion.

This impressive singing bowl is believed to date from the early 20th century and has an honest simplicity of form without any decorative artwork.  It is structurally sound and has an attractive mottled surface finish and a rich golden bronze colour.
