Antique Jambati Singing Bowl. B2 (123Hz) Crown Chakra
Weight 2 lb 7 ¾ oz (1.13 kilos). 23 x 11 cm (approx. 9 x 4 ¼ inches)
This medium size 19th century Jambati bowl has a perfect concert pitch fundamental – a low second octave B (123Hz) whether struck with a padded mallet or played around the rim. It has a middle F# harmonic (375Hz). It’s a responsive bowl and its size and weight make it comfortable to hold and play. This nicely forged bowl has circles at its centre and a single incised band below the outer rim. It is in excellent structural condition and free of blemishes. It also benefits from a nicely engraved inscription on the outer wall…a fair indication of the high esteem in which it was held by a former keeper.
