Weight 1.45 kilos (3 lb 3 ¼ oz). Size 23 x 10.5 cm (9 x 4 ¼ inches)
This is a rare flat-bottomed antique Jambati Singing Bowl with a rather pure and beautiful third octave F# fundamental (186Hz) with a gentle pulse and a good sustain when struck with a padded mallet or played around the rim with a suede or wooden ringer.
This old Jambati bowl has been well constructed and features attractively bold hammer markings throughout. It has a grooved lip with decorative banding below the outer rim, and circles at its centre.
The structural condition of this bowl is excellent, and it is clean and free of stains.
A Tibetan silk brocade bowl cushion, padded mallet, and a ringer are all included in the price.
A nice medium size example of this older and rare flat-bottomed bowl form with an excellent voice!
Listen: (3 struck notes and 2 played notes, suede then wood ringer)
