Antique Manipuri Singing Bowl – G#3 – Throat Chakra

This is a medium size antique Manipuri Singing Bowl with a third octave G# fundamental (204Hz) when struck with a padded mallet or played around the rim with a suede ringer.  The rim note changes to a fifth octave D if a wooden ringer is employed.

This bowl has concentric circles at its centre and typical decorative bands forming a collar below the outer rim.  The hammer markings arising from the forging process are a particularly attractive feature.   The condition of this pretty Manipuri bowl is excellent.

A Tibetan silk brocade bowl cushion and a ringer are included in the price.
