Antique Naga Singing Bowl. D4 & G5 Notes (Sacral & Throat Chakras)
Weight 1 lb 2 ½ oz (524g). 14 x 9 cm (approx. 5 ½ x 3 ½ inches)
This is a medium size antique Naga singing and healing bowl with a powerful and responsive voice, and an impressive sustain.
The fundamental note is a good mid octave D when struck with a padded mallet, and the rim note is the same D4 when played with a suede ringer. However, the rim note gradually builds to a powerful and penetrating fifth octave G if pressure and speed are applied to the ringer, and there is an interesting mid-point when both notes sing together.
This is a well proportioned bowl with a strong pedestal and excellent walls, and in good clean condition for its age. There is a very slight cosmetic issue in the form of a tiny (very tiny) nick in the lip that can sometimes be felt as the ringer passes over it, but this has no effect on the quality of sound, and the buyer can be confident that this is a great sounding Naga bowl with an impressive sustain long after the ringer is lifted from the rim (a characteristic much appreciated by sound healers).
A double-ended teak and suede ringer is included in the price.
Listen: (2 struck notes and 1 played note)
