Medium Jambati Singing & Fountain Bowl – Low & Resonant A2 Voice
SOLD
Antique Jambati Singing & Fountain Bowl. A2 Note (Third Eye Chakra)
Weight 2 lb 11 ¼ oz (1.29 Kilos). 23 x 11 cm (approx. 9 x 4 ¼ inches)
The fine walls of this medium large antique Jambati singing bowl make it relatively light for its size, and therefore comfortable to hold and play for an extended period. And this is a bowl that you will want to play again and again for its lovely and exceptionally low and resonant second octave A note. The struck and the played notes have the A2 note in common, but each is unique and characterful in its own way. An E4 harmonic is sometimes present. And played around the rim with a little water inside this bowl will readily produce fountains.
This old bowl has been very finely forged, and its outer surface is covered in attractive small hammer marks that catch the light. Its high walls gracefully turn in towards the rim, which is plain and simple. The decorative banding that once formed a collar below the rim has almost disappeared over the years, but a pair of circles is evident at its centre.
The structural condition of this bowl is very good. It has a nice golden colour with some patina, and it is virtually free of blemishes and stains. A lovely old bowl with a wonderful low voice!
A Tibetan silk brocade bowl cushion and a teak and suede ringer are included in the price.
