Weight 1.26 kilos (2lb 12 ¼ oz). Size 22 x 11 cm (approx. 8 ¾ x 4 ¼ inches)
This premium quality medium size antique Jambati Singing Bowl has a perfect concert pitch third octave G fundamental (196Hz) when struck with a padded mallet or played around the rim with a suede ringer. The rim note changes to a fifth octave D harmonic (601Hz) if a wooden ringer is employed.
This beautifully forged Jambati bowl has an excellent weight to size ratio, and a particularly graceful shape with walls that gently curve in towards the rim. This is an old bowl, and its surfaces have been worn sensually smooth with long use over the passage of time. There are decorative incised bands forming a collar around the outer rim.
This fabulous antique bowl is golden, clean, and in excellent structural condition with a little copper oxidization inside.
A Tibetan silk brocade bowl cushion, a padded striker and a ringer are all included in the price.
