Antique Jambati Singing Bowl – B2 (124.50 Hz) Crown Chakra
Weight 2.73 kilos (6 lb 0¼ oz). Size 12¾ x 6 inches (32 x 15 cm)
This is an exceptionally large fine-walled antique Jambati Singing Bowl with a wonderfully low pulsating second octave B (125Hz) voice that is very close to perfect concert pitch when struck with a padded mallet or played around the rim with a suede ringer. It has a long sustain and a middle G (390Hz) harmonic.
This 19th century bowl has a relatively low profile for a Jambati, and a very rare and rather beautiful shape; its widest diameter being around its belly rather than the rim. The outer surface is showing its age here and there but nothing that compromises the bowls structural integrity or quality of sound. Indeed, it is a very beautiful bowl in excellent and clean condition for its age. It also has a lovely golden bronze colour.
A Tibetan silk brocade bowl cushion, a padded strikere and a ringer are all included in the price.
A huge and fabulous antique bowl of distinction!
