This is an extremely rare Tibetan Monastic Ceremonial Trumpet or Kangling Flute dating from the 18th century. They are always played in pairs.
It has been skilfully crafted in copper and features a wonderfully ornate Tibetan horned dragon at the open end.
Although intact with no parts broken it is clearly showing its age but could be cleaned and restored if desired. Rare monastic antiquities such as this are often displayed as sacred altar pieces, connecting the past with the present.
