Antique Tibetan Thadobati Singing Bowl. D5 (Sacral Chakra)
Weight 1 lb 8 oz. (678g). 14.5 x 6.5 cm (approx. 5 ¾ x 2 ½ inches)
This is an exceptionally thick and heavy 18th century Thadobati singing bowl with a perfect Concert Pitch (0+1 cent) 5th Octave D voice. The note is the same whether struck or played around the rim.
This fabulous old bowl has one of the thickest walls I’ve come across in nearly 30 years of collecting, and its slightly lumpy appearance in places is a reflection of just how hard it was to forge.
It has a grooved lip and there are some concentric circles at its centre, but these decorative elements have been worn smooth with the passage of time. It is in excellent structural condition.
This rare Thadobati singing bowl has a perfect concert pitch voice, bags of character, and the look and feel of great antiquity. Buy it now before someone else snaps it up!
A Tibetan silk brocade bowl cushion and a teak and suede ringer are included in the price.
Listen: (2 struck notes and 2 played notes)
