Antique Lingam Singing Bowl. G3/D5 (Throat & Sacral Chakras)
Weight 1 lb 0 ¼ oz. (462g). 17 x 6.5 cm (approx. 6 ¾ x 2 ½ inches)
This is a fine-walled antique Lingam Singing Bowl with a low profile, and a wide shallow lingam at its centre surrounded by multiple concentric circles. There is a neat naval underneath. The finely forged walls make this a relatively large bowl for its weight, a touch over one pound.
It is a responsive bowl and easy to play. The fundamental note is a third octave G (204Hz) when struck with a padded mallet or played around the rim with a suede ringer. The rim note changes to a fifth octave D (596Hz) if a wooden ringer is used.
This interesting Lingam bowl is in excellent structural condition. A double-ended teak and suede ringer is included in the price.
