RARE 7-PIECE SET OF 4^thOCTAVE ANTIQUE LINGAM BOWLS
Notes C4, C#4, D4, E4, F4, G4 and G#4

This is a rare 4^thoctave set of 7 antique Lingam Singing and Healing Bowls.  Antique Lingam bowls have distinctive physical and sonic qualities, and are used in sacred ritual and ceremonies.  They are so rare that most singing bowl collectors and practitioners will never have encountered or handled a single bowl, so one can only imagine how special this set of seven is.

These medium-size lingams have diameters between 5 ¼ and 7 ¼ inches and have been matched as far as possible by age (18^thand 19^th Century), condition, shape, octave and pitch.  They all feature lingams at their centre and a matching navel or yoni underneath, and have been tuned to the fundamental when struck with a padded mallet, although in most cases the played rim note is the same.

All are in excellent structural condition and basically unblemished, but with some being cleaner or having a more aged patina than others.  Each bowl is supplied with a cushion and ringer.

Bowl 1. C4 note (268Hz), 7 ¼ inches, 883 grams.

Bowl 2. C#4 note (278Hz), 6 ½ inches, 719 grams.

Bowl 3. D4 note (293Hz), 5 ¾ inches, 393 grams, ritual gashes.

Bowl 4. E4 note (316Hz), 5 ¾ inches, 574 grams.

Bowl 5. F4 note (353Hz), 5 ¼ inches, 398 grams.

Bowl 6. G4 note (392Hz), 6 ¼ inches, 787 grams, concert pitch, inscription

Bowl 7. G#4 note (415Hz), 6 ½ inches, 1.05 kilos. 

NOTE: The C#4 above has been removed to complete a larger set, and has been replaced with a larger (947 grams) and better bowl of the same note (C#4 270Hz).
