This antique singing bowl is an enigma.  Its shape is so extraordinary that I can’t help thinking it was made with a particular purpose or occasion in mind.  It has been beautifully crafted and has the most unusual and haunting voice when struck or played around the rim…a third octave F# (182Hz).

This bowl has a fine even wall; a downward sloping grooved lip, boldly incised circles at its centre, and decorative banding below its inner rim and around its outer shoulder.

It is in an excellent state of preservation and has an attractive dark golden bronze colour.

This rare bowl would be an interesting addition to any singing bowl collection, and its fabulous shape lends itself to display as an art object as much as an instrument of sound or healing!

A Tibetan silk brocade bowl cushion and a double-ended teak and suede ringer are included in the price.
