This is not a typical Jambati bowl…it’s shallower than most and its wall is more curved, and its wide, grooved, triangulated lip and decorative collar are more boldly defined. Nonetheless it’s more like a Jambati than any of the other major bowl forms.
Its fundamental struck note is a rather beautiful middle D (291Hz) with a long sustain. The rim note is the same with a suede ringer, but if a wooden one is used it changes to a powerful and penetrating fifth octave A (878Hz) with a long sustain.
This uncommon and graceful antique bowl has been expertly crafted and is in great condition; clean and structurally sound. It also has a very attractive deep golden bronze colour.
A Tibetan silk brocade bowl cushion and a ringer are included in the price.
