Rare Antique ‘Genie’ Singing Bowl – Perfect Pitch G4 Voice!

This interesting antique bowl with its rare globular form is in excellent condition for its age.  It has an attractive golden colour and is virtually free of stains and blemishes.  It has an inward facing grooved lip and a decorative band of suns set between parallel lines forming a collar just below the outer rim.  Below this there is a bunting-like decoration of downward pointing triangles.  There are also circles at its centre.

The fundamental note is a perfect pitch middle G (392Hz) when struck or played around the rim.  It is a very responsive bowl and easy to play. 

The unique shape of this old bowl results in a unique sound quality.  When one plays around the rim the sound appears to build inside the bowl…and once it gets going it becomes directional and escapes from its open mouth like a genie in a bottle! 

A Tibetan silk brocade cushion and a double-ended teak and suede ringer are included in the price.
