Antique Carved Wood Female Shaman Phurba

Length 11¾ inches (30cm)

This is a very unusual and interesting antique wooden healing phurba featuring a naked female shaman or deity whose long tresses coil around her body from head to toe. 

She stands upon an elephant makara below which is a three-sided blade, each facet of which features a different carving…a rhinoceros, a bird in flight, and the sun and moon. 

The tip of the phurba is wrapped in metal to protect the point when it is thrust into the ground during a protective or healing ritual.

A rare and beautiful shamanic power object in excellent condition!
