Antique Lingam Singing Bowl. E5 (Solar Plexus Chakra)
Weight 1 lb 0 oz. (458g). Size 12 x 5.5 cm (approx. 4¾ x 2¼ inches)
This is a small thick-walled antique Lingam Singing Bowl dating from around 1800. It has the high-sided Thadobati form, folded lip, and decorative band of suns around the outer rim that one associates with singing bowls of the period. There is a mounded lingam surrounded by concentric circles at its centre, and a neat navel underneath. The bowl is structurally sound, with particularly nice suns, and is basically clean but with some light copper oxidization and staining in places. Its cup-like shape fits the hand beautifully.
The fundamental note is a fifth octave E when struck or played around the rim. A ringer is included in the price.
