Weight 3 lb 7½ oz. (1.57 kilos).   Size 17 x 9.5 cm (approx. 6 ¾ x 3 ¾ inches)

This is a large and heavy antique Mani Singing Bowl in its ‘as found’ condition…structurally sound but a little grubby and unpolished, and with some patina .  It exhibits all the characteristics of this bowl type…flat bottom, walls that taper toward the rim, and a wide flat inward-facing lip.  The lip is nicely grooved and there are concentric circles at its centre and incised bands below the outer rim and around its bulbous belly.  The fundamental note is a fifth octave B (965Hz) that I found a little difficult to play, although this should be easily rectified once the rim has been cleaned with fine emery paper or something similar.  This fact has been reflected in the price.  A rather nice Mani bowl that is somewhere between 200 and 400 years old!
