This antique Remuna singing bowl is typical of this rare bowl form with its fine walls and distinctive sound.  It has a slightly mounded centre with circles and incised bands below the outer rim and around the belly.

 

The fundamental note is a low third octave A (224Hz) when struck with a padded malle tor played around the rim with a suede ringer, but the rim note changes to a fifth octave Eb (613-616Hz) if a wooden ringer is employed. 

 

The bowl is in good clean condition.

 

Remuna bowls are now extremely rare and their distinctive sound makes them very collectable.  A ringer is included in the price.
