Rare Antique Tibetan Lingam Singing Bowl – A Sensory Delight!
SOLD
Rare 18th – 19th Century Lingam Singing Bowl. C Note (Root Chakra)
Weight 3 lb 4 ½ oz (1.49 kilos). 20 x 9 cm (approx. 8 x 3 ½ inches)
This is a very fine quality antique Tibetan Lingam Singing Bowl in very good condition. It is a large bowl, and at 1.49 kilos it’s solidly constructed and quite heavy. It is very nicely proportioned and has a rather beautiful profile. It has a very solid triangulated grooved lip, a nice central lingam surrounded by two groups of concentric circles, and a neat navel on the underside. The outer walls are perfectly smooth and unblemished, and holding this bowl is a sensory delight!
This bowl sings a very sweet fifth octave C whether struck with a padded mallet or played around the rim with a ringer.
This is a top quality bowl in very good condition. It has the look and feel of age, and the most lovely antique gold colour.
