It is extremely rare to find a concert pitch Lingam singing bowl.  This is a large and particularly nice example with a perfect concert pitch Bb3 fundamental as metered by my Korg Orchestral Tuner. The struck and played notes are the same Bb3.

 

This low profile bowl has an unusually pretty shape with walls that curve back in towards the rim.  It has a grooved lip, and a decorative incised band forming a collar below the rim.  The band is quite smooth and contrasts nicely with the hammered surface below.

 

A feature of this bowl is the really lovely large symmetrical lingam at its centre, surrounded by two sets of concentric circles.  There is an equally attractive deep navel on the underside.

 

The bowl is in excellent condition and virtually free of stains and blemishes.  It has a beautiful bright golden bronze colour; the inside being particularly lovely.

 

This antique Lingam has everything one could wish for in a bowl…good condition, great looks and perfect pitch!

 

A Tibetan silk brocade bowl cushion and a teak and suede ringer are included in the price.
