This rare antique Lingam Singing Bowl has a particularly interesting shape and very bold features.  In fact everything about this old bowl is unusual…from its pronounced waist and shallow profile to its thick outward sloping lip and large mound-type central lingam surrounded by deeply incised circles.  It’s a heavy bowl for its size too, with thick hammered walls featuring bold decorative lines below the inner rim and also below the midpoint on the outside.  There is a large navel underneath.

The struck and played notes are the same…a good middle octave G#.

This old bowl has bags of character and the look and feel of antiquity.  A Tibetan silk brocade bowl cushion and a teak and suede ringer are included in the price.
