Rare Antique Tibetan Singing Bowl – Inscription & Concert Pitch
SOLD
Unusual Antique Tibetan Singing Bowl. C#4 Note (Root Chakra)
Weight 1 lb 13 ¼ oz (829g). 18 x 9 cm (approx. 7 x 3 ½ inches)
This antique singing bowl has a very rare and beautiful form…with a voice to match. It has a pronounced out-turned and flat grooved lip and lovely rounded bulbous belly. It benefits from a small inscription, and several decorative circles on the inside floor, and incised banding directly below the out-turned lip, around the middle, and underneath. It has a nice golden colour, and is virtually blemish-free and in exceptionally fine condition. This is a quality singing bowl through and through!
The struck fundamental note is a virtually concert pitch middle C#. The note is the same if played around the rim with a suede ringer, but changes to a good 5th octave G# if a wooden ringer is used.
A Tibetan brocade bowl cushion and a double-ended teak and suede ringer are included in the price.
