Rare Bell-Shaped Tibetan Singing Bowl – Wonderful Voice
SOLD
Rare Bell-Shaped Antique Himalayan Singing Bowl. C & G Notes (Root & Throat Chakras)
Weight 2 lb 9 oz (1.17 kilos). 18.5 x 10 cm (approx. 7 ½ x 4 inches)
This is a large bell-shaped Thadobati Singing Bowl of a type rarely seen these days (circa 18th Century) with very thick slightly splayed walls and a sloping lip. It’s a heavy and plain bowl with a simplicity of form and a certain gravitas that is usually only found in older bowls. It has the patina, colour, and the look and feel of antiquity.
This old bowl has a wonderful voice too…a beautiful pulsating middle C sharp fundamental and rim note. A wooden ringer will produce a superb fifth octave G, and with a little water inside this bowl also has some fountain abilities.
