Rare Huge 14 ¼ inch Jambati Singing & Fountain Bowl – Fantastic

This is a glorious, rare, and huge antique Jambati singing and Fountain bowl with a simply wonderful voice.  The fundamental note is a fantastic and very low C2 while the second harmonic rim note is a virtually concert pitch third octave G with a deliciously long sustain.  With a little water inside this bowl will also produce great fountains.

We have only just acquired the bowl after it was discovered during our ongoing search for the most magnificent, majestic and musical of singing bowls from the Himalayas.  It is equal to anything in our own collection, and would sit comfortably among the finest collections anywhere in the world.

This is a really huge and heavy bowl with a massive presence.  It has a diameter of 14 ¼ inches and weighs just under 8 pounds.  It has a deep full body, a plain level lip, and a single incised decorative band forming a collar below the outer rim, and several large concentric circles at its centre.

This stunning old Jambati ticks all the boxes…great quality, good looks, excellent condition and, above all, a wonderful, distinctive and memorable voice.  I cannot speak more highly of it.
