Weight 1.95 kilos (4 lb 4 ½ oz). Size 19 x 10.5 cm (7 ½ x 4 ½ inches)
This is a superb example of this ancient bowl form with all its decorative features intact and well defined…Grooved lip, banding below the rim and around the belly, and circles at its centre. This large and heavy Mani Singing Bowl is in excellent condition, and has the most beautiful bronze colour with the patina of antiquity.
Unlike some Mani it is a responsive bowl that is easy to play. It sings a powerful fifth octave Eb when struck, and has a powerful beat when played around the rim.
Antique Mani bowls are generally thought to be between 200 and 400 years old and are now very rare.
A Tibetan silk brocade bowl cushion and a double-ended teak and suede ringer are included in the price.
