Antique Mani Singing Bowl. Eb5 (623Hz) Note (Solar Plexus Chakra)
Weight 3 lb 6 oz (1.53 kilos). 19 x 10 cm (approx. 7 ½ x 4 inches)
This is a large Antique Mani Singing Bowl with all the typical characteristics of this ancient bowl form…flat bottom, bulbous tapering walls, wide inward-facing grooved lip, circles at its centre, and decorative banding below the outer rim and around its belly. This bowl is very clean and in excellent structural condition with all its decorative features defined.
It is very responsive and easy to play for this type of bowl. The fundamental note is a nice fifth octave Eb (617Hz) when struck and a concert pitch Eb5 (623Hz) when played around the rim with a wooden ringer.
Antique Mani bowls are generally thought to be between 200 and 400 years old and are now very rare.
A double-ended teak and suede striker/ringer is included in the price.
