Antique Shaman Fountain/Talking/Singing Bowl.  E4 & Bb (Solar Plexus & Crown Chakras)

This is an extremely rare bowl of a type associated with shamanic medicinal preparations and rituals…its low shallow flat form making it an ideal platform for the presentation of mandalas.   It is unusually versatile too…with the ability to make fountains if struck or played with water inside, or talk when rocked back and forth.  It also sings of course, the struck and played note being a very low second octave Bb (113-118Hz) with a forth octave E harmonic (238Hz). 

This old bowl is very much one-of-a-kind!  There are three sets of concentric circles at its slightly mounded centre.  The interior surface is quite smooth while the outer wall retains hammer marks.  There is also an extraordinary decorative feature surrounding its outer rim…a pattern that appears to have been deliberately etched with acid.

The structural condition of this bowl would be perfect but for a tiny 1cm split midway along the inner wall.  I would not have noticed it were it not for the fact that a previous owner has attempted to cover it with a tar-like substance.  It appears to have no impact on the bowl’s  performance or voice, and if I were keeping it I would simply remove the tar.
