Antique Lingam Singing Bowl. Notes: Eb3 & A4 (Solar Plexus & Third Eye Chakras)
Weight 1.40 kilos (3 lb 1 ¼ oz). Size 22.5 x 10.5 cm (8 ½ x 4 ¼ inches)
This rare large antique Lingam Singing Bowl has an excellent concert pitch voice and benefits from an inscription; a fair indication of the high esteem in which this bowl was held by a former keeper.
It has a gracefully curved wall, a sheered lip, large lingam at its centre and a deep navel or yoni underneath. The lingam is surrounded and defined by concentric circles, and there are 2 bands of tiny decorative cuts encircling the outer rim.
The fundamental note is a concert pitch third octave Eb (155Hz) when struck with a padded mallet or played around the rim with a suede ringer. The rim note changes to a nice middle A (449Hz) or fifth octave A (858Hz) with a wooden ringer.
The structural condition of this fabulous large antique Lingam bowl is excellent, clean and stain-free with an aged patina.
A padded striker and double-ended teak and suede ringer are included in the price.
