This is a rare large and extremely shallow antique singing bowl of a type associated with shamanic work, and suitable for mandalas, ceremonial occasions or rituals, and medicinal preparations.
The fundamental note is a third octave F# (182Hz) when struck, and a fifth octave C (522Hz) or E (651Hz) when played around the rim.
This interesting shaman bowl is likely to appeal to practitioners and collectors alike. It has a plain sheered lip and no decorative features apart from a tiny ‘eye’ or sun (dot within a circle) at its centre. It is free of blemishes or stains and is in excellent structural condition.
