Antique Remuna-Lingam. Notes A3 & D6 (Third Eye & Sacral Chakras)
Weight 468 grams (1 lb 1 oz). Size 16 x 7.5 cm (6 ¼ x 3 inches)
This unusual Lingam Singing Bowl has the classic shape and sonic characteristics of a Remuna bowl with its fine slightly globular wall, sheered lip, and decorative bands encircling the outer wall…but with the rare added feature of a lingam surrounded by circles at its centre, and a matching navel or yoni underneath.
Lingam bowls have a very distinctive sound, and Remuna bowls are renowned for their beautiful voices and ease of play. This lovely bowl combines the best of both worlds. It has been superbly crafted and its exceptionally fine walls make it light for its size and a delight to hold and play.
This bowl is believed to date from the 18th century. It is in good structural condition, clean and stain-free with a nice golden bronze colour.
A Tibetan silk brocade bowl cushion and a double-ended teak and suede ringer are included in the price.
Listen: ( 3 struck notes and 2 played notes with wood ringer).
