Rare Medium Tibetan Lingam Singing Bowl – Eb4 Note

This is a medium size antique Lingam singing bowl with a good mid octave Eb fundamental when struck with a padded mallet or played around the rim with a suede ringer.  It is very responsive and easy to play.

 

This Thadobati-shaped Lingam bowl has straight high-sided walls, a centrally placed pointed lingam and a neat navel on the underside.  This bowl is believed to date from the 19th century and has seen a fair amount of use.  It is structurally sound and free of stains and blemishes, but any decorative features it may once have had have been worn away with the passage of time.

 

A Tibetan silk brocade bowl cushion, a padded mallet, and a teak and suede ringer are all included in the price.
