Antique Lingam Singing Bowl – C5 – Root Chakra
Weight 622 grams (1 lb 6 oz) 5¾ x 3 inches (14.5 x 7.5 cm)
A fabulous and rare pot-shaped antique Lingam Singing Bowl with a flanged rim, a grooved lip, and a very pretty centrally placed pointed lingam surrounded by two sets of concentric circles.
A pair of finely incised decorative bands encircles the outer wall high up below rim, with another low down. Underneath there is a deep and well-defined navel. This is only the second pot-shaped Lingam bowl of this type I have come across.
The fundamental note is a near perfect concert pitch fifth octave C (524 Hz) when struck with a padded mallet or played around the rim.
This unusual bowl is in excellent condition, and is free of stains and blemishes. A brocade bowl cushion and a ringer are included in the price.
A nearly identical pot-shaped bowl with a concert pitch F#4 can be seen here.
