Weight 876 grams (1 lb 15 oz). Size 17 x 9 cm (6 ¾ x3 ½ inches)
This is a premium quality 19th Century lingam singing bowl with thick even walls, a level grooved lip, with a generous pointed lingam surrounded by concentric circles at its centre, and a deep navel or yoni underneath. There are two decorative bands of tiny cuts encircling the outer rim, and faint parallel lines around its belly.
The fundamental note is a lovely middle D (301Hz) when struck or played with a suede ringer, and a fifth octave A (874Hz) if a wooden ringer is employed.
This is a beautifully proportioned bowl that is sensually smooth to the touch, clean, and in an excellent state of preservation.
A Tibetan silk brocade bowl cushion, and a double-ended teak and suede ringer are included in the price.
