Rare Small 18th Century D4 Lingam Singing Bowl
SOLD
Antique Lingam Singing Bowl. Notes: D4 & G#5 (Sacral & Throat Chakras)
Weight: 482 grams (1 lb 1 oz). Size: 14 x 7 cm ( 5 ½ x 2 ¾ inches)
This is a small 18th century Lingam Singing Bowl. It has fairly straight walls, a plain sheered lip, and a flat bottom. There is a neat lingam surrounded and defined by 2 sets of circles at its centre, and a matching navel or yoni underneath.
The fundamental note is a nice middle octave D4 (289Hz) when struck with a padded mallet or played around the rim with a suede ringer. The rim note changes to a fifth octave G#5 (816Hz) with a wooden ringer. It’s a responsive bowl and easy to play.
This rare small antique Lingam Singing Bowl is structurally sound, clean and stain-free, with evidence of magical or ritual marks around the outer wall. It has the look and feel of antiquity.
A ringer is included in the price.
