Rare Small Antique Lingam Singing Bowl – Bb4 (468Hz) with Inscription

Antique Lingam Singing Bowl.  Bb4 (468Hz) Crown Chakra

Weight 15¾ oz (445 grams).  Size 5 x 2¼ inches (13 x 6 cm)

This is a very nicely proportioned small antique Lingam Singing Bowl.  It has a grooved lip and a decorative collar of tiny digs just below the outer rim.  There is an excellent pointed lingam at its centre surrounded and defined by three concentric circles, and underneath there is a neat navel.  A few tiny inclusions (grains of dust in the molten mix) on the floor of the bowl add interest and remind one of the primitive conditions in which these bowls were forged.

The fundamental note is a middle Bb that is quite close to concert pitch.  The note is the same whether struck or played around the rim.  A double-ended teak and suede ringer is included in the price.

This little bowl is in excellent condition and in good voice, and benefits from a nice inscription on the outer wall.
