Rare Small Antique Lingam Singing Bowl – F4
SOLD
Antique Lingam Singing Bowl. Notes: F4 & B5 (Heart & Crown Chakras)
Weight: 419 grams (0 lb 15 oz). Size: 13 x 6 cm (5 ¼ x 2 ¼ inches)
Small Antique Lingam Singing Bowls are incredibly rare and highly sought after by collectors, healers and practitioners. With a diameter of just 5 ¼ inches (13 cm) and weighing just 15 ounces this is one of my smallest bowls, and will likely be snapped up quickly by a collector.
This beautifully crafted 19th Century Singing Bowl has gently curved walls, a sheered lip, and a rounded bottom. Any decorative features it might once have had on its external wall have been worn away with the passage of time, and its wall is now silky smooth. There is just a hint of a possible inscription.
The Lingam at its centre is surrounded and defined by two sets of circles and there is a neat naval or yoni underneath.
This small Lingam bowl is very responsive and easy to play. The fundamental note is a nice middle octave F4 (344/5Hz) when struck with a padded mallet or played around the rim with a suede ringer. The rim note is a penetrating fifth octave B5 (966Hz) when played with a wooden ringer. This small antique bowl comfortably fits in the palm of the hand for playing, and despite its light weight, doesn’t spin when playing.
It is structurally sound and basically clean, with a nice matt golden bronze colour.
A very rare, attractive, and desirable small Antique Lingam Singing Bowl!
A ringer is included in the price.
