Antique Lingam Singing Bowl. Note: B4 (Crown Chakra)
Weight 455 grams (1 lb 0 oz). Size 13 x 5.5 cm (5 x 2 ¼ inches)
This is a small antique Lingam Singing Bowl in its ‘as found’ condition, dating from the early to mid 19th century. It has a low profile with a flat bottom, and thick walls. It has a sheered lip, a lingam at its centre surrounded by circles, and a matching yoni or navel underneath.
The fundamental note is perfect concert pitch middle B4 (494Hz) when struck with a padded mallet or played around the rim with a suede or wooden ringer. It’s a very responsive bowl and easy to play.
The structural condition of this Lingam bowl is excellent. Its aged patina reflects its long use.
A Tibetan silk brocade bowl cushion, and a double-ended teak and suede ringer are included in the price.
