Rare 17th – 18th Century Antique Lingam Singing Bowl.  A Note (Third Eye Chakra)
Weight 1 lb 3 ¾ oz (561g).   13 x 5 ½ cm (approx. 5 x 2 ¼ inches)

 

This is small but weighty antique Tibetan Lingam Singing Bowl with an excellent 5th octave fundamental A note whether struck or played around the rim with a ringer.  This is an interesting bowl that also has some talking ability with or without water…very unusual.

 

This is an old bowl, thicker and heavier than usual for its size, with a wide grooved lip and a neat central lingam and navel.  The bowl is otherwise plain and simple, in good condition, with a lovely clean and smooth exterior.  Small Lingam bowls are particularly rare.  A double-ended teak and suede ringer is included in the price.
