Rare Tibetan Lingam Singing Bowl – Low B and Fountains!
SOLD
Antique Naga Singing Bowl. B Note (Crown Chakra)
Weight 1 lb 12 oz (794g). 20 x 7 cm (approx. 8 x 2 ¾ inches)
This large antique Tibetan Lingam singing bowl has a low B flat voice that is close to concert pitch, particularly when played around the rim with a heavy suede ringer (supplied). With a little water inside this bowl will also produce good fountains.
This rare lingam singing bowl has a wide mouth and a low profile. It is structurally sound and in excellent condition for its age. It features an unusually large wide central lingam surrounded and defined by concentric circles, and a deep and perfectly formed navel underneath. It has a strong slightly triangulated lip and a single incised decorative line forming a band below the outer rim. The colour is an attractive antique silvery-gold with a patina that shows off the forging hammer marks to good effect. It has the look and feel of age.
A heavy suede-covered teak ringer is included in the price.
