Antique Jambati Singing Bowl. Note C3 (129/30Hz) & F#4 (370Hz) Root & Heart Chakras
Weight 661 grams (1 lb 7 ¼ oz). Size 19 x 8.5 cm (7 ½ x 3 ¼ inches)
This antique Jambati Singing Bowl is unusually small for this bowl type. It is beautifully crafted and has very attractive hammer markings to its outer wall. There is a large circle at its centre, and a single decorative line encircling the rim, below which is a small inscription.
The fundamental note is close to a concert pitch third octave C when struck (129/30Hz) or played, but the rim note readily evolves into a perfect pitch middle F# (370Hz) if played with a suede ringer.
This is an old bowl and the circle at its centre has been partially worn away over the years, but it is structurally sound, clean and stain-free. Altogether a very attractive specimen!
A Tibetan silk brocade bowl cushion, a small padded striker and a ringer are included in the price.
