Antique Jambati Singing Bowl. Notes: F3 & C5 (Heart & Root Chakras)
Weight 2 lb 3 ½ oz. (1.01 kilos). Size 21.5 x 10 cm (8 ½ x 4 inches)
This is a small and very nice quality antique Jambati Singing Bowl with finely hammered walls, a plain triangulated lip, circles at its centre, and decorative bands encircling the outer rim…all typical characteristics of this lovely bowl form.
Its good looks are matched by a wonderful voice…a third octave F (173Hz) when struck with a padded mallet or played around the rim with a suede ringer. The F3 rim note will sing beautifully with a C5 harmonic (530Hz) using a suede ringer if desired. The harmonic will sing alone if a wooden ringer is used.
The structural condition of this 19thcentury bowls is good for its age, and it is clean and largely free of stains and blemishes.
A Tibetan silk brocade bowl cushion, padded striker, and a double-ended teak and suede ringer are all included in the price.
