A small and pretty antique Thadobati Singing Bowl with a middle A fundamental that is quite close to concert pitch.  The note is the same whether stuck or played around the rim with a suede ringer, but the rim note changes to an exceptionally high sixth octave Eb if a wooden ringer is used.  This bowl fits very snugly into the hand for playing.

 

This bowl is appealing in its simplicity of form…gentle curves above and below the midpoint, which is defined by a decorative pair of incised lines, echoed by a similar pair of concentric circles at its centre.

 

A Tibetan silk brocade bowl cushion and a teak and suede ringer included in the price.
